Harshal Vyas

Harshal Vyas is a graceful and multi-skilled professional dancer who possesses a fine sense of rhythm and a great passion for music. Harmonizes it with his unique body movements which transcend his raw emotions immaculately, construing them into eccentric ideas and stories.

He started as an Indian folk dancer in Ahmedabad in the year 2008. He went on to further train in Kalaripayattu martial arts in 2015 under Gurukal D. Padmakumar from Kerala and continued his training in Kalarigram, Auroville in 2019. In 2018, he received training in Pole and Rope Mallakhamb in his hometown, Ahmedabad, and has also experimented with his skills using Contact Improvisation.

After performing extensively in both India and abroad with over 200 shows, competitions, and productions in well-acclaimed festivals and locations and working with some eminent dancers and choreographers like Daksha Sheth, Terence Lewis, Mallika Sarabhai and Madhuri Upadhya to name a few, Harshal went onto start his own dance company in 2015.

Currently, the Artistic Director of Samanvay Dance company, he, along with his team, aims to spread awareness regarding the traditional Indian arts, combining them with contemporary art forms to make them more relevant and reach out to a wide audience with their raw emotions, unique ideas, and stories, presented in magnificent productions. He, with his team, is teaching a wide array of students and working as a freelance dancer and choreographer for various schools, colleges and many well-recognized dance companies to spread his knowledge and skills of the Indian culture forward.
