Raavan- In Ten Minds
As per the Indian mythological text ‘Ramayana’, Ram is considered the hero and Raavan the ultimate villain but
what made Raavan the villain he was?
What inculcated the negativity through which he is portrayed?
Is the most popular demon just a human being with multiple emotions?
The production ‘Raavana- in ten minds’ explores him neither as a hero nor as a villain but as a normal human being with both good and bad virtues. An intellectual and fearless leader, he was also selfish, arrogant, and insolent which made him the ‘fallen hero’.
This solo act begins with a loud drumroll invoking the audience to be impartial to this widely talked about character and proceeds to explore and project the raw emotions of the most acclaimed villain with a humane projection of his multi-faceted personality using skillfully curated movements and musical narrative.
This musical production revolves around the ten emotions- the ten minds of Raavana, which justify him neither as the superhero nor as the malefactor but just as a human being with complex emotions.
The end leaves the audience at a point of contemplation about their perception of Raavana before and after delving into his ten minds through our production ‘Raavana- in ten minds’.
